At the beginning of each year, The Women's News picks out women to receive the 'Women Leaders of the Future' Award. This year, the paper picked ten women as the second batch of recipients of this award.
The 'Women Leaders of the Future' Awardees are selected among women in their thirties or forties who have more than five years of experience in their respective fields. These young women are chosen for their potential to breathe hope into Korean society.
During this year's ceremonies, special awards went out to Kim Seong Yi, Chair of the Youth Protection Committee, for the decision to disclose the identity of those found guilty of sexual crimes against youths, and to the company Taepyongyang for its donation to the Korea Breast Cancer Foundation.
