University students longing for new times and the realization of the June 15th North-South Korea Joint Declaration wave the flag of the Korean Peninsula as they take part in the 2001 Grand Reunification Festival held in Yeouido to commemorate the 56th anniversary of liberation from Japanese colonial rule
"Reunification has become not just our desire but a reality. The harmony of our people and our message of peace to the world is opening a new chapter in the history of the world. Every one is joining this great revolution to open each person's heart and to join hands in changing the tide of our times. Let us strengthen our resolve. To hang on tight to the hands we are holding now. To stand as one in realizing the June 15th Joint Declaration. Truly, reunification is only a few more steps away."
