19 most trusted companies… many awarded over 10 years in a row

On the list for this year’s “Best Companies by Female Consumers” were a total of 19 companies including Samsung Electronics and Amore Pacific.

On October 30, the committee for “Best Company” (Chairman Gil Jeong-woo, lawmaker) revealed 19 winners who have successfully boosted corporate productivity by satisfying customers and at the same time have fulfilled its social responsibility through women-friendly management, eco-friendly management, ethical management, and shared management. Samsung Electronics and Amore Pacific were awarded whopping 16 consecutive years. New in the list were Lihom Cuchen, Daehan Hearing Aid, and Korea Electrical Safety Corporation.

“Companies trusted by consumers tend to take the upper hand in terms of future competitiveness,” explained the committee. “The winners of this year’s award, who were selected directly by female consumers, have presented new development vision by satisfying customers and elevating corporate image and value..”

Kyowon Red Pen also made the list 15 years, Seoulmilk Dairy Cooperative 14 years, Ildong Foodis 12 years, Hankook Chinaware and Lotte Food 11 years, and Farmsco 10 years in a row. Mister Pizza, Hana Tour, Namyeung Vivien, the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (Nonghyup), Fashion Group Hyungji, Ewha Womans University, Green Village, and Hanyang Cyber University also returned to the list again, displaying their ceaseless popularity among female consumers.

The committee for “Best Company” is chaired by Gil Jeong-woo with 4 other members: Rhee Keechoon (Professor Emeritus of Consumer Studies at Seoul National University), Kim Soon-ok (President of Korea Business Women Federation), Lee Eun Hee (Professor of School of Human Ecology at Inha University), and Chun Kyung Hee (Professor of Consumer & Housing Studies at Catholic University). The award is hosted by Women News and sponsored by Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association, Korea Business Women Federation, Korean Society of Consumer Policy and Education, and Institute of Human Life and Environment at Ewha Womans University.

The winners were selected by each sector through a thorough online evaluation, focusing on 14 values that contribute to happiness and improved quality of lives of women. Respondents were found to be comprised of women who make purchases based on word-of-mouth, price, brands, healthiness, eco-friendliness, and new products in the order written.

Female consumers evaluated based on 5 criteria including product quality, customer satisfaction, contribution to women’s job creation, corporate social responsibility, and support for work-life balance.

The result was combined with advice from experts to finalize the list of awardees. 14 values of focus were △women’s health △improved living environment △convenient living △comfortable life △fashion △self-development & children’s education △expressing individuality and self-management △healthy food & beverages △convenient transportation △food culture △relaxed life △satisfactory public service △economic capability and △medical service.

The award ceremony will be held at 11 on November 6, at Seoul Convention Illumina Hall in Samsung-dong.
